More About Our Talent Identification Process™
With every retained recruiting search -- be it a hiring project for a corporation or private individual -- we'll visit the company's headquarters and/or flight department to get an in-depth understanding of the organization's culture, vision and plans for the future, the team's values, and what it's like to work and travel with the executive travelers or principal.
Once all criteria are identified, we then quickly, efficiently and strategically creates a go-to list of pre-vetted aviation experts who meet the mission, vision and values of the organization. From there, we select a group of prime candidates for presentation.
At API, our team conducts lengthy, in-depth interviews with API Registered Professionals who are predominantly passive job seekers poised for career growth opportunities. Our goal is to know the movers and shakers in the industry who are gainfully employed and open to future growth opportunities. Getting to know them first allows us to make an initial assessment of their career aspirations that is not ‘influenced' by a particular opportunity.

We meet one-on-one to know each candidate beyond the basics such as their number of flight hours, type rating, licenses, etc. We first ensure they bring the technical skills to the table, and then we focus on the person -- their inherent values, interests and communication and leadership styles. This helps us get to know the kind of boss who's helped them grow, understand the candidate's interests outside of work and their document their professional and leadership goals as well as team skills.
API is not your typical aviation "recruiter" or "headhunter" The difference is that we've already made contact with almost all of the top tier aviation professionals in the business aviation industry. The benefit to you is that our unique pre-screening process allows us to make an objective assessment on the individual's career aspirations without having clouded judgment based on a particular client project or opportunity. It also means that when you call us for a project, we're not starting from ground zero which will often save you time during the hiring process and reduce your risk of hiring an "unknown."
