SAN FRANCISCO – February 23, 2024 – Aviation Personnel International (APIaviation.com) celebrates the career of Debbi Laux, a distinguished leader in the business aviation industry, as she embarks on retirement on February 29th. Sheryl A. Barden, President and CEO of API, extends heartfelt appreciation and gratitude for Debbi’s remarkable contributions throughout her career.
With an impressive aviation career spanning more than three decades, Laux has left an indelible mark on the industry. Her journey includes pivotal roles at API as its Candidate Services Manager where she interviewed and counseled bizav professionals regarding their career trajectories, and MedAire, culminating in her tenure as the company’s Trade Relations Director.
Prior to this, she showcased her expertise as the Customer Service Manager for Corporate Jets (known today as Atlantic Aviation) in Scottsdale, Arizona. Her previous experience at American Express Company, Phoenix, Arizona, further fortified her acumen in the business landscape.
Beyond her professional endeavors, Laux’s commitment to community and industry engagement is unlimited. She has been actively involved in esteemed organizations such as the National Business Aviation Association (NBAA) and the Arizona Business Aviation Association (AZBAA). Laux’s dedication extends to various leadership roles, including her current position on NBAA’s International Operators Committee (IOC). She was also a member of the NBAA’s Safety Committee and NBAA’s Schedulers & Dispatchers Committee (SDC), and continues to serve on its S&D Advisory Council.
Laux’s legacy is adorned with numerous accolades and initiatives aimed at uplifting the industry. Notably, she supported the creation of the “Pay It Forward” campaign, a national community professional clothing drive with the SDC Advisory Council, and served as its Chair for 10 years at Schedulers & Dispatchers conferences. Additionally, her role in launching the “Navigator” volunteer program at the IOC conference exemplifies her commitment to nurturing future leaders. Laux has also been a steadfast advocate, rallying industry professionals to pursue aviation scholarships. Her impact has reached countless individuals, motivating them to seize these valuable opportunities.
As a respected speaker and moderator, Laux has presented at countless industry events, for organizations such as the AZBAA, NBAA’s IOC, SDC and Regional Forums, to name a few. Among other volunteer posts, she has served in her local Arizona community as President of the AZBAA, President of the Banner Good Samaritan Medical Center Auxiliary, Secretary of the Junior League of Phoenix and a YMCA Board Member.
Recognizing her unparalleled contributions, the NBAA honored Laux with the prestigious Silk Scarf award in 2022, underscoring her enduring impact on the business aviation community. In 2023, she was also presented with the Guy Gribble IOC Appreciation Award for her dedication and years of service to NBAA’s International Operators Committee.
As she embarks on a new chapter, Laux leaves a legacy of excellence, mentorship and unwavering dedication to advancing the business aviation industry. API extends its heartfelt gratitude to Debbi Laux and wishes her a fulfilling retirement.
