Jenny Showalter Aviation Personnel Manager, Candidate Services

SAN FRANCISCO – January 19, 2017 – Sheryl Barden, President and CEO of Aviation Personnel International (apiaviation.com), today announced the addition of Jenny Showalter as the company’s Manager, Candidate Services. In her new position, Showalter will serve as the key team member responsible for the API Registered ProfessionalTM program, and ensure that API has a strong, diverse and well-vetted pool of business aviation professionals for its clients—most of whom are Fortune 500 companies or private individuals operating a flight department with one or more aircraft.

“With Jenny Showalter’s outstanding reputation in the business aviation industry throughout her two decades of service, our team at API is grateful for the opportunity to bring her on board,” said Barden. “Jenny’s background is particularly well-suited to the work she’ll be doing on behalf of our aviation candidates; she’s a natural leader with an entrepreneurial flair, and has a really excellent grasp of customer service practices within our industry.”

With a goal of serving the needs of business aviation hiring managers, Showalter will assist with expanding the company’s valued relationships with business aviation professionals among key functional areas: leadership, maintenance, flight operations, in-flight services, scheduling and dispatch.

“I love this industry; it’s in my blood,” explained Showalter, about her new position. “I’m thrilled at the opportunity to help other passionate business aviation professionals thrive in this industry and expand their careers.”

Prior to joining API, Showalter served as the Executive Director for the Florida Aviation Business Association (FABA), and was also a member of its board of directors. For 18 years previously, Jenny served as Customer Service Manager / Director of First Impressions for Showalter Flying Service, her family’s third-generation fixed-base operation. Responsible for many business areas, including service, sales and marketing, she assisted with the various needs and requests of flight departments, flight crews and passengers visiting the Orlando area.

Showalter is a member of FABA and its board, as well as a member of the National Business Aviation Association, where she serves on NBAA’s Local and Regional Groups Committee. She is a former decade-long member of the NBAA Schedulers & Dispatchers Committee, and was the committee’s Chairwoman from 2007-2008. Showalter is a graduate of Rollins College in Winter Park, Florida, where she attained a Bachelor of Arts degree in History and Spanish.

Additional team changes

As Manager, Candidate Services, Showalter will replace Jennifer Steele, who has accepted the position of Director, Client Services. In her new position, Steele will work directly with API’s client hiring managers to identify their professional and cultural needs and match them with highly vetted, qualified candidates. She will also help strengthen API’s relationships with its long-term clients and assist in business development opportunities.
